Wet or moist gangrene tends to follow the following symptomatic pattern:-

 

(a) The affected area becomes swollen and decays;

(b) It is extremely painful;

(c) Localised oozing occurs;

(d) It produces a foul smelling odour;

(e) It becomes black; and

(f) The affected person develops a fever.
