CPEI Launched in New Zealand
The Continuing Podiatric Education Institute of Australia & New Zealand has also launched a site in New Zealand. Although the requirements for Continuing Education differ from those in Australia we felt it beneficial New Zealand Podiatrists to have access to a local version of this fantastic resource. It is not just about getting the points after all, it is about refreshing knowledge and skills as time goes on. Continuing Education courses in New Zealand require approval from the Podiatrists Board of New Zealand in order to count towards the Podiatrists Board Re-Certification Framework (PBRCF). That application will also seek approval for courses written specifically to address the needs of our New Zealand members.
Formal Recognition Of Our Courses By The New South Wales Podiatrists Registration Board
New South Wales registered podiatrists may be aware that our site and courses were made an agenda item for the meeting of the New South Wales Podiatrists Registration Board on 18 June 2008. We understand that the reason for us being listed as an agenda item was that the Board had been contacted and asked whether or not our couses were recognised by them for Continuing Podiatric Professional Education purposes. Subsequent to the Board meeting we were notified in writing that sucessful completion of our courses would attract 5 Continuing Podiatric Professional Education points per course. While our legal team had reviewed the relevant legislation and we were confident that we were fully compliant we were pleased to have received a formal statement confirming our status. Over the coming weeks we are planning to add a further 2 courses, one of which will be a further free course, and increase the number of images and amount of graphic content contained within our course materials to make them more user friendly. We will forward an email to our registered users once these new materials become available.
